About B.A. Purtle

B.A. Purtle was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He became a Christian in 1996 and immediately began studying God’s Word, preaching the Gospel, and teaching regularly in the context of the local church. He has since ministered especially in Kansas City, MO, along with short-term work across the U.S., in the Middle East, and in other parts of Europe and Asia. He has been married since 1998. He has five grown children and six grandchildren.

He has served the church with a long-standing passion for Gospel clarity, the knowledge of God, sound doctrine, practical holiness, healthy churches, and the great commission. He has served as an elder at Bellicose Church in KCMO since Father’s Day 2015, where he is devoted to preaching the Word, shepherding the flock, and mentoring and equipping future pastors and church-planters.

B.A. was a firefighter in Kansas City, MO for 13 years, a job which he very much enjoyed. He pastored and preached bi-vocationally from 2002 until 2022, at which time he took up full-time pastoral work.
